The Fire in Her

At the age of 24, she was a ballistic expert. But that was to support her poor family. And at the age of 90 also she fired questions at politicians. And her book ‘A Choice and not an echo’ sold three million copies. Her grandfather and father were experienced mechanics. She too had that mechanic’s mind, and she turned that to change the nuts and bolts of American political systems.

ERA & Arms Control Agreement

Her family underwent severe poverty. For some time she taught in a school. A staunch Republican, she made a lot of friends and many more enemies. She stood against Equal Rights Amendments (ERA). She wanted to help middle-aged homemakers more. But she was a dedicated wife as well and saw to it that she did not offend her husband.

She is known for the Arms Control Agreement during the cold war. She criticised Judges for awarding the death sentence to minors. She slammed Obama for playing with words. In short, she had the vetoing power as far as the Republican Party is concerned. Her views on same-sex marriage created a lot of controversies.

Migration Policy

She did not endorse the migration policy of Republicans. Most of her degrees and honorary degrees were met with opposition. As a staunch Catholic, she and her husband believed that Catholicism is the right religion for America.

She will be remembered as the most vociferous American politicians. Donald Trump said “Her legacy will live on every time some underdog outmatched and outgunned defies the odds and delivers a win for the people. The Eagle Forum founded by her in 1972 pushes for low taxes, a strong military and English-only education. It has 80,000 members. ‘Steely scourge of feminism who stirred the rise of the American right‘ is what the press described her.

She would have been the right choice as the President of America.
